We bring you the most comprehensive equipment and menu of services.
Here is what we are offering in Sussex and surrounding towns:
Repair and Rebuilding of the Chimney Crown. The cement structure on the top of your chimney, situated on a slate that allows water to flow away from your bricks and masonry. A repair can be a simple job of sealing any cracks with an elastomeric sealant. This forms a bond that can expand and contract, unlike mortar. If the damage is too great, the chimney crown would have to be taken off and rebuilt with new cement.
- Chimney Masonry Repairs. With the unpredictable weather in Wisconsin, bricks and mortar often chip or flake and need repair. If there is a crack, water may seep in. If undetected, the crack can grow or cause additional problems such as leakage. Tuckpointing would be involved where the masonry is cracked or missing. This involves scraping out the old mortar and replacing it with new.
- Replacement and Repair of Chimney Liners. Over the years, with wear and tear, you may find that the flue liner or the tiles within may become cracked. This is a serious concern as a chimney fire can start if the heat from the flue is exposed to a combustible material. The liner can be fixed with a product our technicians used called HeatShield. If the damage is not fixed with this epoxy-like coating, a replacement liner may need to be purchased. We will provide you with all the information on this process.
- Chimney Flashing Repair. Resealing the joint where the flashing hits the roof will take care of any leakage. If the flashing is found to be damaged, we would remove the old, damaged flashing and replace it with a new one.
- Chimney Cap Repair and Replacement. The chimney cap sits on the top of the chimney opening. Its main purpose is to protect against water entering the flue. Once we assess damage, it will be determined if a repair can be done, or a complete replacement is best. For minor cracks, a sealant would be suggested. For extensive damage or if the cap is rusted, it would warrant a replacement with a new cap.
