What to Expect on an Inspection?

Exterior Inspection:

Check for cracks, structural integrity, and loose bricks.

Interior Inspection:

Starting with the firebox, we will check for cracks or crumbling mortar. The damper is also checked to ensure proper airflow.

Flashing and Roof Check:

The flashing is the metal where the chimney meets the roof. We look for leaks or sagging, which can cause water damage.

Flue and Liner:

This area will be checked for creosote buildup. The liner will also be checked for cracks.

Blockages:

We will look for any collection of animal nests and debris, twigs, and leaves.

• Allow parking for our truck.
• Clear a walkway so that the technician has a clear direction to the fireplace.
• Take decorations away from the mantel and hearth.
